Just a Random Question...

I've always wondered; why is it that when ultra-conservative Muslims become expatriates, they expect to apply their cultural and religious views to everyone around them? Mind you, I'm not just talking about themselves or their families, I'm talking about their new towns, cities, etc. by and large. It just seems odd to me that someone would move to a new place where things may be the complete opposite of what they are used to but still expect life to be exactly the same. Bleh..*shrug*
